Membership Application and Approval

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of Mortgage-Backed Securities Issuer Association ("MBSIA").

WHY JOIN

As the industry grows and adapts everyday, MBSIA must seek out those who can make a positive contribution to an evolving organization. Our association will give you the opportunity to network with top executives from other institutions in this competitive field. Working together informally is both beneficial and cost effective for your institution and the industry. Regular Issues and Information Sessions facilitate the exchange of valuable industry information between members.

What we ask of our members and affiliates is that they share their experience, knowledge, and add their professional voice to that of MBSIA. With our institutions changing so rapidly, only you can help make YOUR industry work more effectively. We invite you to become a member of one of the most dynamic and progressive associations in Canada.

WHO CAN JOIN?

• Any Company or other body politic which issues or may issue from time-to-time securities backed by mortgages as part of an operating business shall be eligible for membership in the Association.
• A Member is entitled to all rights and privileges of membership, including the right to receive notice of, attend, speak, participate in, and vote at meetings of the Members, subject to the Articles, By-laws, and Operating Policies of the Association.

WHAT ABOUT SERVICE PROVIDERS?

Affiliate Members

• Any Company or other body politic which provides goods or services related to a member or the Mortgage-Backed securities market shall be eligible to be an Affiliate. Affiliates do not have voting rights.

WHAT ARE THE ANNUAL FEES?

The annual fee is currently set at $1000 + applicable taxes.

All membership applications are subject to review and approval to ensure alignment with the Association’s purpose, standards, and eligibility requirements. Submission of an application does not guarantee membership.

Once your application is received, it will be reviewed by the Membership Committee & Association Secretariat. Applicants may be contacted for additional information as part of the review process. You will be notified of the outcome within 30 days of submitting the application.

As a Member and an Affiliate Member you are allowed to have unlimited representatives within the membership.
